Our facility uses cutting edge technology to minimize its impact and to increase efficiency. Athens Generating is committed to producing efficient reliable energy. The facility houses three Siemens 501G combustion turbine generators.
These generators are powered by natural gas combined-cycle technology that provides efficiency nearly double that of older power plants. Athens Generating sells its electricity on a competitive basis and is strategically positioned to boost general electric reliability in the Mid-Hudson Valley, southeastern New York and the New York City regions.
