Catskill Mountain Shakespeare presents classic texts and new work initiatives in immersive and natural settings. We are committed to bringing professional theater to our area while fostering diversity and equity for all. Our performances create a common space for the local community, weekenders, and anyone visiting the region to enjoy live art together.

Our cast is classically trained and our staff is deeply experienced. Through the power of vibrant storytelling, our fierce devotion to community engagement, and the gorgeous landscape of the Catskills that surrounds us, Catskill Mountain Shakespeare aims to become a cultural hub providing shared arts experiences and opportunities for all enthusiasts in our region.

Our production of Shakespeare’s “As You Like It” opens on July 15th, 2023 outdoors and under the tent behind The Red Barn on Main Street in Hunter (across from The Doctorow Center for the Arts). Free Outreach programming including workshops, talkbacks and more also available!
